An ISR operator using medium-altitude UAVs needed to enhance an existing Ku-band SATCOM installation to achieve assured Mbps level performance and introduce redundant C2 pathways.

Challenge

The existing Ku-band system delivered inconsistent throughput, and mission sets required guaranteed bandwidth across multiple aircraft. The operator also needed a backup L-band channel for C2/telemetry redundancy, plus enterprise-grade 24/7/365 support for continuous operations.

Solution

SD Government (SDG) delivered leased Hellas Sat Ku-band capacity with a guaranteed 4 Mbps return link across multiple UAS. Multiple Iridium channels were added per UAV and per GCS to provide robust C2 redundancy. SDG engineers provided onsite calibration, testing, and ongoing system upgrades.
